I found music a very feminine space, so embracing this level of femininity has been an interesting and challenging experience for me. Being able to be feminine, strong and supple, but still maintain a healthy lifestyle and not be a burden to others, was difficult for me. I've loved it somewhat, I've loved wearing heels and dresses every day and having these beautiful curls and soft fabric. It was quite stressful, as I'm a lot younger than other actors in Fantastic Beasts]; there is a great deal of stress. In the process of auditioning, I was struck by the feeling that there was this huge pressure in front of me. Or, I could crumble beneath the weight of it and fall since I was so desperate to do it. But I also had the option of stepping into the air and let it propel me forward. There is a possibility to go on the whole day walking around visiting museums, coffee shops as well as parks. You can feel isolated in LA however London's Tube allows you to be at the heart of the action. Any human being that you can imagine is visible. I am awestruck by people. I come from the music world, where you're constantly surrounded by males, and you're sure that there's a real intimacy constantly working alongside men. These books are a dream come true for me. It was wonderful to be able to read the novels while traveling. You're constantly changing cities which makes it difficult to concentrate. However, to be able to escape to such a vivid visual universe inside your own bed is amazing.
